Mercedes student musicians, along with their dedicated teachers, recently joined flute players from across the region for the first rehearsal of the National Flute Association RGV Fiesta Flute Choir. 🎶🌟 These flautists have secured a spot for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform with a choir of this size at the 2024 National Flute Association Convention in San Antonio this August. Bravo to our Mighty Tiger flute players for proudly representing our district and the entire RGV! We are #MISDproud! 🎶🐅

Polishing their skills! Our middle school bands took part in a clinic to help fine-tune their playing skills in preparation for their upcoming UIL Concert Band Evaluation contest. 🎷🎺🥁🐅 A special thank you to the organizers and guest directors for working with our young musicians and providing them valuable information and feedback.

The Sgt. Chacon Concert Band, under the direction of Mr. Salinas and the Sgt. Chacon Symphonic Band, under the direction of Ms. Coronado had guest clinicians work with our band students in preparation for the UIL Concert Band Evaluation competition. Both of our bands had an outstanding workshop. We are very proud of all of our tiger musicians. Go Tiger Band!
